’25-26 Upgrades

High-Speed Quad Chairlift

It’s time to start the installation of our high-speed quad chairlift—the biggest upgrade in
Bluewood’s history! This new lift will cut ride times in half, offering a faster, smoother,
and more reliable ride to the top. With fewer stops and increased comfort, you’ll spend
less time on the lift and more time enjoying your favorite runs.

This project is a huge undertaking with many moving pieces that need to align for an on-
time completion. Helicopters will be flying in towers and concrete buckets for the
footings while heavy equipment prepares the mountain for this massive upgrade. We
are stoked!

Mountain Biking (Summer Operations)

We’re thrilled to announce that the add-on of our high-speed quad opens the door for
2026 summer operations at Bluewood. The number one request from our community…besides a new chair lift…has been for mountain biking, and we’re excited to make that happen.

Our new trails will be designed with all skill levels in mind, from beginners to experienced riders, creating a fun and safe experience for the whole family. Here’s the best part: the new high-speed quad will take you and your bike straight to the top of the trails. No uphill pedaling! Whether you’re looking for a leisurely ride through the trees or an adrenaline-filled downhill adventure, our trail system will have something for everyone.

Night Skiing

We’re thrilled to introduce night skiing to Bluewood! Soon, you’ll be able to experience
carving down the slopes under the glow of lights, creating an entirely new way to enjoy
the mountain.

This new offering will extend your time on the mountain, providing more opportunities to
make the most of your season pass. Whether you’re looking for an after-work adventure or want to experience skiing and riding in a whole new light (pun intended), night skiing will elevate your Bluewood experience to the next level.

Lodge Remodel + New Restaurant

We’re continuing the lodge remodel to create even better spaces for you to enjoy. The
new additions are being built in the area where the Skyline chair was previously loaded.

And the second floor will feature a brand-new restaurant offering incredible food and
beautiful views, while the first floor will house our ski school, expanded retail, and
offices, making the space both functional and welcoming for all.

Cutting-Edge Snowmaking System

Also added this summer is our new high-tech snowmaking system. This multi-gun
system ensures better, more consistent coverage across the mountain. When combined
with our summer grading efforts, this means better early and late-season riding
conditions for all our guests.

Heated Patio with Fire Pits

We’re also enhancing our base area experience with a new heated patio featuring gas
fire pits. It’s the perfect place to gather with friends and family after a day on the slopes
or warm up on a chilly evening.

Our goal is to have the lodge projects completed by the start of the season so you can
enjoy these improvements as soon as possible. However, our top priority is the
installation of the new high-speed quad. While we will do our best to have night skiing,
the lodge remodel and patio finished on time, we appreciate your patience as we work
to deliver all projects to the highest standard.

Improved Terrain Prep

This summer, we added new Caterpillar equipment that enables us to grade runs more
efficiently, meaning we require less snow to open the slopes. Thanks to this, we opened
three weeks early this last season. We hope this fall we’ll be on track to do it
again…with a little help from Mother Nature and our snowmaking system.

New Dining Options (Food Truck)

As I’m sure you saw this winter, we added our new food truck, Bluewood Pizza Project,
serving hand-made wood-fired pizzas. It’s a delicious addition to our mountain
experience, perfect for refueling after a great day on the slopes.

Investment in Our Amazing Staff

To ensure Bluewood continues to provide exceptional service, we’ve invested in our full-
time, year-round staff and management. We’ve introduced raises and a bonus system
to ensure competitive living wages for our team—because great employees are the
heart of a great mountain.

’24-25 Upgrades

High-Speed Quad Planning

Bluewood ownership is pleased to announce the installation of a detachable high-speed quad to upgrade the Skyline Express. The lift will go in as soon as the snow melts in the Summer of 2025. You can read more in the press release here.

Base Yurt Relocation

The Base Yurt will be moved to create more space in front of the lodge. It’s new home will be found somewhere unique for a mid-mountain not-so-apres-ski stop. Pending forest service approval, it will find it’s new home near/around/at the top of Baby Face.

Snow Making in the Base Area

As soon as the well tests out, we will be installing snowmaking around the base area to help us in the early season. It may not come in handy every year, but if it helps out one out of every five years, it will be worth the investment.

’23-24 Upgrades

New Cat

This year, we got a new dedicated snow cat to help out on the mountain and support rounding out the Nickel Bowl Terrain Park. Groomers will be even more crispy, and Chris, the Cat Operator, might be a little more chipper after grooming all night because of it.

Pub Remodel

The Pub is going to be your new favorite spot for apres ski. New drink and food selections will give you a good reason to take off your boots and stay awhile. New vibe, TVs, tables… we’re excited for you to see it.

BBQ station

You heard that right. There will be smokin’ BBQ eats all. season. long. Venture down to the second floor next to The Pub for the auxiliary food station that will help keep food lines short and a timeless variety on the food menu.

Fixed potholes

Bumpy rides no more. Get ready for a smooth drive in and out! We do our best to keep up with the potholes that pop up, but Mother Nature and Father Winter do give us a run for our money. Bluewood Pothole Patching Company now needs a logo. Jkjk. But seriously.

’22-23 Upgrades

3rd Floor Remodel

New look, who dis?! That’s right, our 3rd-floor lodge got a complete facelift.

Revamped Terrain Park

Welcome to Gnarnia. With 150 feet of brand-new steel, 6 rails, 15 jumps, and 2 hips, you’re set to challenge your skills.

Updated Menu + New Drink Options

The Bluewood Grill, The Pub, and the Summit Yurt have been upgraded to include tasty eats and drinks at each location for convenience around the whole mountain.

Overflow parking lot

We created a secondary parking lot with a shuttle service to provide additional parking on our busiest days!
