General information

Please arrive at least one hour before the 9 a.m., 11 a.m., or 1 p.m. lesson times

Group lessons: All ability levels

Bluewood offers several group lesson options–from a basic single-day lift ticket and lesson to three-day packages that include lift tickets, lessons and equipment rentals. Select an age-group tab to explore the options. Beginner packages top the list under each tab, followed by options for people with intermediate to advanced abilities.

Ages 4-6

Skyliner Kids ($55/lesson or 5 lessons for $220)

These lessons are specifically designed for children who like the outdoors and want to ski. We provide instructors who are trained for teaching your child.

Details:

  • Includes a one-hour lesson, lift ticket, rental skis and helmet.
  • This is a ski program only (no snowboarding).
  • Lessons are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. every day we’re open. You choose the lesson time that works best for your schedule. 
  • We recommend being at the mountain at least one hour before the lesson starts. This allows time to receive a lift ticket and prepare your child for his or her lesson.
  • Visit the SnowSports desk (open at 8 a.m. on operating days) to make arrangements.

Ages 7-12

Easy Rider ticket & lesson package ($44)

Designed for the person who has never been skiing or snowboarding.

Easy Rider refers to the lifts that take you to the top of the learning terrain near the lodge. These are moving conveyor belt lifts, not aerial chair lifts.

Details:

  • Single-day package.
  • Includes a lift ticket for the Easy Rider lifts and a lesson that lasts up to two hours. Rental equipment isn’t included.
  • Lessons are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. every day we’re open. You choose the lesson time that works best for your schedule.
  • We recommend being at the mountain at least one hour before the lesson starts. This allows time to receive your ticket and prepare for your lesson.
  • Visit the SnowSports desk (open at 8 a.m. on operating days) to make arrangements.
  • You may upgrade your lift ticket to an all-mountain ticket for an additional charge after you complete your lesson.

Easy Rider ticket, lesson & rental package ($73)

Looking to hit the mountain and rip like a pro but you’ve never been skiing or snowboarding before? No worries! Let us get you started with our learn to ski or snowboard beginners package. It’s designed for the never-ever beginner, which means this is your very first time to go skiing or snowboarding.

Easy Rider refers to the lifts that take you to the top of the learning terrain near the lodge. These are moving conveyor belt lifts, not aerial chair lifts.

  • Single-day package.
  • Includes a lift ticket for the Easy Rider lifts, a lesson that lasts up to two hours, and ski or snowboard rental.

This is our popular multiday package for beginners–designed for people who have never ever tried skiing or snowboarding. It’s perfect for you or anyone on your list who wants to get into winter sports.

Details:

  • Multiday package.
  • 3 days of lift tickets (day 1 ticket is for the beginner area, and days 2 and 3 are full-mountain access).
  • 3 days of ski or snowboard rental.
  • 3 days of lessons.
  • Valid for one person only and not transferable. Must choose and stay with either skiing or snowboarding.
  • The package doesn’t have to be used in three consecutive days, but it must be used any three days during the season of purchase.
  • The package expires at the end of the season.
  • This package retails for more than $408 if tickets, rentals and lessons are purchased separately.
  • Lessons are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. every day we’re open. You choose the lesson time that works best for your schedule.
  • We recommend being at the mountain at least one hour before the lesson starts. This allows time to receive your ticket, receive rental equipment and prepare for your lesson.

BONUS: After you complete your third lesson, as a graduation gift you’ll receive a complimentary season pass for the remainder of the season.

Please note: This package is exclusively for those new to snow sports. It’s not meant for someone who already knows one discipline and wants to crossover to another. If you’re familiar with skiing or riding or can get on chairlifts, this program isn’t for you. We’ll assess this at the outset and excuse you from the program if you’re not a never ever snow sports beginner.

 

Intermediate and advanced skiing or snowboarding lessons ($44)

The length of each lesson varies, depending on the number of people in the group. If there’s one person, the lesson time will be one hour; two people,  an hour and a half; three or more people, two hours.

  • Must have a valid lift ticket.
  • Available any day Bluewood is open.
  • Reservations aren’t required.
  • Sign up at the SnowSports desk in The Hub.
  • You’ll be placed in small groups of people with similar abilities.
  • Lessons are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. every day we’re open. You choose the lesson time that works best for your schedule.

 

Explore the mountain package ($165)

After you finish your EZ 1-2-3, or you simply want to improve your skiing or snowboarding ability, here’s the next logical step. This package is designed for the intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder all while offering the same great savings as the EZ 1-2-3 package.

Details:

  • Multiday package.
  • 3 all-mountain lift tickets.
  • 3 days of ski or snowboard rental.
  • 3 group lessons.
  • The package doesn’t have to be used in three consecutive days, but it must be used any three days during the season of purchase.
  • Lessons are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. every day we’re open. You choose the lesson time that works best for your schedule.
  • Visit the SnowSports desk (open at 8 a.m. on operating days) to make arrangements.
  • Limit two package purchases per person in one season.

Private & semi-private lessons

  • Skiing or snowboarding.
  • Lessons are one-on-one or same-household family members for one-hour blocks of time.
  • You will be matched with an instructor who meets your needs–and off to the mountain you go!
  • Lessons are designed to focus on achieving your goals, having fun and improving your skills.
  • All lessons are sold on a space-available basis.

Private one-on-one instruction

One hour: $85
Two hours: $130

Semi-private instruction

This winter only: Semi-private lessons are offered for same-household family members (up to five people).

One hour: $85 first person + $45 for each additional person (ages 7 and up)
Two hours: $130 first person + $45/hour for each additional person (ages 7 and up)
