Have fun working at a winter resort
Check out some of the many benefits of joining the Bluewood Team:
Season pass. All employees get a free Bluewood season pass!
Discounts. Employees enjoy food, beverage (no alcohol) and retail discounts at the ski area.
Snow breaks. We work toward scheduling that will allow for you to hit the slopes as often as possible during times in which business allows. For those who don’t ski or ride and would like to learn—that can be arranged as well.
Mountain exchange program. This unbelievable program in the Pacific Northwest allows employees and volunteers from Bluewood to ski or ride at other participating resorts for free or at deeply discounted rates.
Fun! Bluewood offers some of the most amazing snow fun available anywhere.
Our season typically runs from December to April. All positions require a high level of Guest service. Though you may be hired into a specific department, we expect all employees to work as part of the Bluewood Team, which means you may be trained and asked to assist in other departments or perform other jobs outside your primary department.
Many positions at Bluewood require attention to written documentation efforts on a continual basis. Communication with your supervisor and your fellow staff members is essential to success.
Jobs & departments
Food service worker
Help prepare and serve quality meals and assist our Guests. You will be right in the middle of the action, putting your Guest service skills to the test. If you have experience as a grill cook or server, this is the place for you.
Guest shuttle bus driver
Provides parking lot transportation for Guests.
Parking lot attendant
Help Guests find parking lot spaces.
Lift operator & attendant
If you like the outdoors and wearing a smile, this job is for you. Lift operators typically start the day shoveling new snow, making sure load and unload areas are properly shaped, setting up rope lines, and placing signs to assist Guests at lift areas. At 9 a.m. the lift begins sending Guests to the top of the slopes, and it’s your job to make sure they’re wearing a lift ticket and using the lift safely. And, of course, you can toss in a big ol’ smile and a “have a great snow day!” Must be age 18+.
Rental technician
As a rental technician, you’re likely to be a first-time Guest’s first impression of the Bluewood staff. Being friendly and knowledgeable is a must. We’ll train you with the needed skills. This rewarding job could have you falling in love with skiing or snowboarding.
Tickets, Guest Services, retail, cashiers
You’re all smiles and answers, knowledgeable about the facility and resort programs. You have excellent cash handling skills and know how to make Guests feel satisfied. We need ticket sellers, food and beverage cashiers, Guest service desk and retail clerks. These positions put you on the front line with Guests.
Ski and snowboard instructor
You must be an accomplished skier or snowboarder and be able to speak in front of groups. Instructors are key personnel who keep Guests coming back for more! You can imagine just how rewarding this job can be as you turn people into snow lovers. These jobs are part-time and often the skiing benefits outweigh the monetary gains, but there’s no better way to be a “ski bum” for the winter. Extra stars for you if you love kids.
Terrain park crew
We’re looking for a few good guys and gals to join the park crew ranks this season! An eye for detail and a strong work ethic is a must as we continue taking the parks at Bluewood to the next level. If you enjoy working a shovel and rake, keeping transitions dialed-in all day long, building and maintaining features, assisting with events, skiing and riding—well, this could be the position for you. NOTE: As with all positions at Bluewood, you may be asked to work in other departments as needed and appropriate.
