We want to share an update on what has been a unique summer at Bluewood, including current fire activity, progress on the high-speed quad project, and the continued development of our mountain bike trail network.
The Paradise Fire has recently begun to impact operations at Bluewood, with our parking lot now being used as a base for Forest Service air support. Because of this, Bluewood’s boundaries will be closed to the public until further notice so crews can operate safely and efficiently.
Progress has also continued this summer on the High-Speed Quad project. Several major lift components have arrived, and crews are actively working through preparations for installation. Unfortunately, the top and bottom bull wheels are currently scheduled to arrive Mid September, and we cannot be certain there will be enough time to complete the installation ahead of the 2026–27 winter season.
Despite the lift setback, we’re excited to see our mountain bike plans taking shape. With Forest Service approval in place and Tamarack Trail Works leading construction, work is underway on Green Giant as we build toward an initial preview featuring 20+ miles of trails for riders of all ability levels.

Here’s what you can expect from Bluewood as we continue to move forward with projects this summer.
As the Paradise Fire continues to impact our area, Bluewood’s parking lot is being utilized as a base for Forest Service air support operations. Our boundaries will remain closed until further notice to give fire crews the space they need to operate safely.
We will continue preparing for the instillation of Skyline Express V2 as we await the arrival of the final components. We plan to begin installation following the 26/27 season with an expected completion date in September 2027.
With recent Forest Service approval, Tamarack Trail Works is leading the development and planning of Bluewood’s initial mountain bike trail network, which is expected to offer 20+ miles of terrain for riders of all abilities.

Yes, the new lift project is still moving forward. While installation of the new lift is now expected to take place following the 2026–27 season, Skyline Express is being prepared to operate this winter. Our team completed extensive work on the lift in previous seasons, and crews are continuing to inspect and service its components to ensure it is ready to operate smoothly throughout the 2026/27 season.
When we structured this year’s pass sale, we recognized the possibility of a continued lift timeline and previously increased prices. Due to that, initial 26/27 pass pricing was reduced by $50 compared to the previous season, and super tier passholders also received a $50 resort credit. On top of that, we have a handful of additional passholder perks we’re excited to share as we get closer to winter.
Our current goal is to offer an initial mountain bike preview following completion of the new lift, targeted for September 2027. We are also exploring the possibility of an earlier, uphill, pedal-powered preview before lift-served riding begins. We’ll share more details as trail construction progresses and those plans become more defined.
Absolutely. We’ll continue sharing updates on the lift project, mountain bike development, fire activity, and the mountain as we are able to. Please keep in mind that a tremendous amount of work happens both on and off the mountain that doesn’t always make it onto our social feeds. We truly appreciate the support and interest, and we’ll continue doing our best to answer questions and provide timely, confirmed updates.
