In memoriam: Kim Clark

Sept. 9, 2021

Dear Bluewood Family,

Thank you so much for the outpouring of support and love as we mourn the loss of our friend and Bluewood General Manager, Kim Clark. Tracy, his wife, has said that reading comments about how he touched so many lives is comforting and helping her cope during this time. Your comments are also meaningful to all of us who have worked with Kim and built friendships with him over the years.

Since many of Kim’s friends are in the ski industry and are preparing for the ski season, and since the pandemic still impacts travel and gatherings, the plan at this time is to have a celebration of life sometime in the spring, possibly mid-April.

As the ski season approaches, we think of how Kim would always talk about getting those snow dances going, how he’d enjoy chatting with guests on the phone, in person, and at season pass pickup events, and how he’d love to welcome skiers and snowboarders back up to the mountain. In that spirit, we look forward to seeing each of you again soon.

To our Bluewood Family,

It is with heavy hearts that we have to share this difficult news. On Tuesday afternoon, August 31, Kim Clark, Bluewood’s General Manager, had an apparent heart attack while on the mountain, and significant rescue efforts were unsuccessful.

Kim passed away doing what he loved, with people he loved, on the mountain he loved.

We’re all heartbroken and in shock. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this time, especially for Kim’s wife, Tracy, and the rest of his family, friends and colleagues.

Kim’s friendship and leadership will be deeply missed by all of us on the mountain.

We’ll share more information as it becomes available.
